Biography

Dr. Omer T. Inan is a Professor and Associate Chair for Entrepreneurship & Strategic Initiatives in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech, where he holds the Linda J. and Mark C. Smith Chair. He received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 2004, 2005, and 2009, respectively. Before joining Georgia Tech in 2013, he served as chief engineer at Countryman Associates, Inc. and was a visiting scholar at Stanford. His research focuses on wearable medical devices and machine learning for physiological signals, with a strong emphasis on translating technologies from the lab to clinical care — particularly for heart failure, hemorrhage, and congenital heart disease monitoring.
