Biography

Dr. Pavan Turaga is a Professor at Arizona State University with a joint appointment in the School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering and as the Founding Director of the GAME School (2025). He joined ASU in 2011 and directs the Geometric Media Lab, where his research spans machine learning, Riemannian geometry, topology, and computer vision — with applications in health analytics, immersive technologies, and the arts. He received the NSF CAREER Award in 2015, the Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Maryland in 2024, and ASU's Founders' Day Award for Research Excellence in 2025.
