Vicente Micol

Vicente Micol obtained his PhD at the University of Murcia in biological membranes and completed his post-doctoral research at the Division of Biology of Caltech (CA) in mitochondrial biogenesis and diseases. He has been Full Professor of Biochemistry and head of the research group "Bioactive Molecules" at IDiBE (UMH) since 1997, focused on the biological activity and mechanism of action of polyphenols and their application in chronic diseases.

With 34 years of multidisciplinary expertise in Biological Sciences, Dr. Micol has served as principal investigator on 80 R&D projects, authored 174 research articles in indexed databases, directed 17 PhD theses, and is a founding member of 4 technology-based companies. He maintains active collaborations with several international research groups.
